The kitchen pantry door. I never gave it much thought until recent. It’s just a pantry door, right? I didn’t realize how much of an impact redoing such a simple door would have on my entire kitchen.
During my kitchen makeover, I realized I was missing something. I was missing one final detail to really put my personal mark on my kitchen and give it an even fresher feeling. With two coats of paint and new hardware, I said goodbye to the plain, white pantry door (I never realized how boring you were, pantry door). This easy change has added a pop of happiness to my kitchen.
Choose The Right Color
After slight deliberation on the color, I chose an awesome shade of blue from the General Finishes Milk Paint collection called Persian Blue.
Two coats gave me the perfect shade and covered any pervious white paint. That’s all it took for me, but keep in mind my pantry door had been simple– no hard to cover colors, textures, or designs.
But just painting the door was not enough for me. The door still needed something.
I wanted something that would add a touch of glamour to the kitchen. I found a beautiful gold plated glass door knob at Lowes that did just the trick.
This simple DIY makeover took barely any time, I spent the most time for this project deliberating which color and doorknob to chose. This change adds so much personality and beauty to a once overlooked and simple door. Now when I walk into my kitchen I can’t help but look at the new pantry door and smile. And then sprint over to it to find snacks.
